My current research interests include biomediation in calcrete paleosols and terrestrial secondary carbonate accumulations, and sedimentary dynamics of carbonate platforms (Mesozoic and Palaeogene of the Dinarides). Most of research has been focused on geobiological research of calcification products of plant roots, based on examples from Cretaceous and Palaeocene calcretes of Adriatic-Dinaric Carbonate Platform, Quaternary of the Meditrerranean region and the Bahamas, and from present-day calcareous soils of SE Spain.
